On Sunday the 14th of October I will be running my first Melbourne Marathon which is a 42.2 km run and I want to dedicate this run to help support my brother with his #fightingptsdvicpol campaign to raise funds to go towards specific hospital engagement for our Victoria police members.
My aim is to raise over $5000 to help his campaign. All donations are tax deductible
Over the past 17 years, I have watched my brother work his way through the ranks within the Victoria Police Force. From working as a Junior Constable on the Divisional van in Frankston to now being a Detective Acting Sergeant at the Fugitive Taskforce.
Over the years I have heard most of his war stories and some of these no one should ever have to attend or deal with.
From attending multiple road fatalities, murder scenes, shootings, holding deceased bodies or having a distraught mother pass her deceased child to my brother asking for help.
I just cant imagine what he or our Victoria Police members attend to on a daily basis.
In 2015, I had the pleasure to run the marathon leg with my brother during his Melbourne Ironman race. That year he won the most inspiring performance award through Triathlon Victoria.
In October 2016, Glenn started the #fightingptsdvicpol campaign to help spread awareness for PTSD and mental health issues for Victoria Police.
To date he has raised over $33,000 through exercise, social media and various media interviews.
His campaign page is www.protectingtheprotectors.com
My brother this year was awarded the 2018 Blue Ribbon Foundation Police Officer of the Year award in recognition of his efforts.
Your tax deductible donations are being held in the Blue ribbon mental health fund and will assist to the Blue ribbon foundation to continue its valuable work with proceeds to support the WHY (We Hear You) program for mental health services and initiatives for those who are or have served
